BAC Enhances Nexus® Modular Hybrid Cooler with New PuriStream™ Water Treatment System and UV Light

Baltimore, MD (Outubro 06, 2026) -

Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. (BAC), the world's cooling partner, announced an enhancement to its Nexus® modular hybrid cooler: the integration of the new PuriStream™ water treatment system and UV light. Building on the Nexus® cooler's proven history for water and energy savings in space-constrained applications, this addition maintains water quality without reliance on the liquid chemical treatments typically used to prevent biological contamination.[1]

The PuriStream™ water treatment system delivers maximum safety and hygiene with on-demand biocide generation, balanced dosage control, and UV light. Factory-integrated and pre-wired for easy setup Puristream™ system disinfects the water circulating through the basin, while an additional UV light further controls biological growth and scale. Together, these capabilities support improved system uptime, cleaner heat transfer surfaces, and reduced maintenance with no dependence on drum-based chemical systems.

"The Nexus® modular hybrid cooler already changed what customers expect from a fluid cooler, and adding PuriStream™ takes that a step further," said Neil O'Mara, Market Leader, HVAC & Manufacturing at BAC. "With maximum safety and hygiene through on-demand biocide generation, balanced dosage control, and UV light, we're helping customers protect their equipment and simplify maintenance, delivering cooling reimagined for a smarter balance."

The Nexus® cooler continues to deliver on its core advantages including lowest installation, operating, and maintenance costs with maximum uptime. Through the cooler’s intuitive and intelligent touchscreen controls, it offers up to 50% water savings and 40% energy savings, up to 60% less spray water volume, and three modes of operation (fully evaporative, fully dry, or balanced Nexus® mode). Powered by patented hCore® heat transfer technology and a direct-drive, variable-speed EC fan system, its compact, modular design remains ideal for confined layouts and indoor installations of up to 200 nominal tons.

¹ Water quality performance in heat rejection equipment is dependent upon an owner's strict adherence to all proper maintenance and operating procedures and BAC's water quality guidelines. Periodic water testing may be required to meet ASHRAE Standard 188/Guideline 12 (and/or ASSE 12080) as well as local regulations.
