BAC’s Immersion Cooling Tank Data Center Certification – Part of the Intel® Data Center Certified Solution
BAC® (Baltimore Aircoil Company Inc.), a leader in data center cooling innovation, announces that its immersion cooling tank has been certified as part of the Intel® Data Center Certified Solution for Immersion Cooling for fourth and fifth-generation Xeon® processors. The advancement of this certification program marks a significant milestone in industry efforts to validate next-generation immersion cooling solutions that meet the efficiency and sustainability demands of modern data centers.
The Intel Data Center Certified Solution for Immersion Cooling is the product of a rigorous testing effort that looked at immersion cooling tanks, cooling fluid, and IT hardware. The certification program was collaboratively developed by BAC, Intel, ExxonMobil®, Hypertec®, and Micron®, demonstrating the strength of cross-industry cooperation in advancing the development of high-performance cooling systems. Crucially, the certification enables Intel to offer a Xeon Processor Single-Phase Immersion Warranty Rider, providing customers with added confidence in the durability, efficiency and compatibility of immersion-cooled IT infrastructure.
As part of the program, testing was conducted at Intel’s Advanced Data Center Development Lab in Hillsboro, Oregon. BAC’s immersion cooling tanks featuring the patented CorTex™ technology played a key role in validating tank performance, reliability, and integration between fluid and IT components. “Immersion cooling represents a critical advancement in data center thermal management, and this certification is a powerful validation of that progress,” said Jan Tysebeart, BAC’s General Manager of Data Centers. “Our immersion cooling tanks are engineered for the highest levels of efficiency and reliability. By participating in this collaborative certification effort, we’re helping to ensure a trusted, seamless, and superior experience for our customers worldwide.”
The Intel certification builds on BAC’s existing leadership in the design and development of high-efficiency data center cooling technologies. BAC’s COBALT™ immersion cooling system, which combines an indoor immersion tank with an outdoor heat rejection system, enables data centers to achieve among the lowest Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) values in the industry while enhancing uptime and sustainability performance.
“Through rigorous joint testing and validation by Intel, we’ve proven that immersion cooling can bridge IT hardware and facility infrastructure more efficiently than ever before,” added Tysebaert. “Certification programs like this one are key to accelerating industry adoption by ensuring every element — tank, fluid, processor, and memory — meets the same high standards of reliability and performance.”
BAC continues to collaborate with global technology leaders to advance immersion cooling standards, support sustainable computing, and help customers deploy scalable, energy-efficient data center solutions. To learn more, visit https://baltimoreaircoil.com/products/immersion-cooling.
